About Us

Welcome to The Body Consultancy! 15 years ago I gave up the stress and physical restraints of a career in PR to pursue my love of physical fitness - my career as a physical fitness coach and the Body Consultancy was born! I spent my formative years as a dancer so it was the natural progression. I am a level 3 personal trainer, level 4 biomechanics coach, Pilates, barre and Les Mills Body Pump and Body Balance instructor. To date I have worked with a huge variety of clients with various fitness levels, postural problems and injuries to vastly improve movement and optimise performance. Working with the correct movement of the spine and its associated structures has always been a passion, so Pilates has increasingly become my focus. More recently I have returned to my ballet roots and include barre - ballet inspired exercise, in my services. I run fun, fulfilling classes in all disciplines, the focus of which is on ensuring every individual participant works at their own level to reach their potential. I also work on a more one to one level for those who want a more bespoke approach.
Classes

Pilates
Modern Pilates has evolved from 34 original matwork exercises devised by one Joseph Pilates in the late 1930s. Originally designed to rehabilitate injured soldiers and later improve the physical fitness of ballet dancers, Pilates has now been adapted to take into account all body types, fitness and flexibility abilities. With regular practice it can completely change the shape of your body, change the way you move and how you feel. If you want to feel reshaped, rebalanced and realigned with a longer, leaner, stronger body, then Pilates is for you!

Barre
Barre is a dance and Pilates inspired workout that is fun, energetic and works to chisel the body into the lean, defined body of a ballerina. We use the ballet barre, various props including Pilates balls, bands and small hand weights. No special shoes or dance experience is required. See you at the Barre!

Fitness
To reach peak physical fitness requires the right combination of strength, endurance, cardio vascular and flexibility work as well as a healthy mental attitude.
Les Mills BODYPUMP will work on muscular endurance using a light to moderate barbell to get lean, toned and fit fast. Coupled with lots of repetition, professional encouragement and great music it will leave you feeling amazing!
BODYBALANCE the yoga, inspired workout, will leave you feeling long, strong, centered and calm. Happy.
